Description

Wire from the coil or reel has bends in its main plane (cast) and often displays a certain helicity as well (helical twisting).  The purpose of the Helix straightener is to eliminate this helicity in three-dimensional direction. The Helix straightener is also used to produce a self-defined helicity in a wire when this is required for a follow-up process.

The Helix straightener has a solid body in which the axes for the straightening rollers are mounted.  One of several straightening rollers is adjustable in two planes (height and distance from the other rollers).  The other straightening rollers are on a zero line. By adjusting the middle straightening roller in the main straightening plane (radial) it is possible to eliminate bends from this plane or induce them in defined manner.  Axial adjustment of the straightening roller is also possible.  In this case, the recess of the straightening roller presses the wire off its zero line on the one side and bends it continuously in a second plane as a result of the unequal flank pressure.  Helicity is either eliminated or induced as a result of the wire’s enforced position and forward movement.

The HR is built in the German tradition of high quality and is suited for material diameters from nearly 0mm to 3mm OD in four different sizes.
